The Chinese Mycological Society initiated and produced the documentary "The Glory of Mushrooms" which will be premiered soon

Mushrooms have always been a favorite food in our colorful life, with their different shapes, fragrance, smoothness, flexibility and wonderful ecological qualities that make them distinctive and extremely vital. What is the role of mushrooms as edible fungi in nature? How many thrilling stories can be found behind a small mushroom?
　　
The Glory of Mushrooms" documentary will be premiered on November 7 at 22:00 on Shanghai TV's "Humanities Documentary Channel". The film tells the story of the origins of the rapidly developing Chinese edible mushroom industry, the life experiences and hard work of several generations of scientists, industrialists and mushroom farmers, and the huge impact this has had on the development of China's edible mushroom industry.
　　
The documentary was initiated by the Chinese Mushroom Society and was produced in cooperation with some local governments and industrialists. The creation of the work took more than a year, with the creators going to more than a dozen provinces, cities and autonomous regions to conduct research, exchange interviews and film the material. Engineering Research Center of Ministry of Education, Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Chinese Lingzhi Culture Museum, Qingyuan Shiitake Mushroom Museum, Longquan (China) Shiitake Mushroom Museum and many other scientific research institutions, Gutian Edible Mushroom Museum, major edible mushroom production areas, as well as local TV stations and exhibition halls.
　　
The documentary is divided into six episodes, featuring the most important edible mushrooms in China, such as Shiitake, Ganoderma, Golden Needle, White Mushroom, Silver Fungus and Black Fungus, showing the familiar and unfamiliar edible mushroom species as well as humanities and landscapes, leading the viewers into the fantasy world of mushrooms.
　　
From the magical landscape where mushrooms and human beings emerged and flourished in the last millennium in China, to the mushroom people's living condition beyond the earthly world, from the myth of mushrooms to the legend of science and technology, from the traditional agriculture to the "Chinese mushroom industry" that influenced the world, from the fight against poverty to the industry taking root and making a significant contribution to rural revitalization.
